Child Eyes

I wake up in the early morning
Feel by body warm and curled
I open my eyes to the new world
But they remind me without warning
The terrible things you have said before
Memories you destroyed but you swore
You didn’t mean to, the words I fell for
I ask less of you, I disappear behind my eyes
But yet you continue to ask for more
Before they wake, my love, before they die
Remember that it’s not about these lies
Innocence like a child comes from the wise
You will learn and you will rise
I close my eyes at night and I lie my head
I hope to forget everything that you’ve said
I hope for more than an end that dead
I close my child eyes and dream ahead
